The Spartan King is set to save his people. In spite of Oracle’s denial, they set off for the war with just 300 men. They are then accompanied by a small army. These 300 brave warriors fight against enemies which outnumbers them in quantity. These Spartans are shown to be very courageous and brave.

This kind of movie is what I love watching. The feel that this movie brings in me is indefinable. There are some scenes which are not to its best like when the King goes to visit the wizards to the top of a cliff; I found it a bit dull. The rope work hasn’t been done in a proper way and the cinematic feel diverts at that point.

The rest of the war scenes are very good. The part which I liked best was the one when they are attacked by their enemies from quite a distance; the arrows approach them like rain drops. The huge beast which the enemies bring with them to win the battle, the gigantic elephants, large walls of corpses etc. are good to watch. Another good aspect of this movie for me is the background music score. I am not sure which bands performed those sound tracks, but that’s what I like.

All in all this is one my favorite in my list.
After this movie, the one that I wait so desperately is the one called 10,000 BC.

Jam Up Session At Kaleidoscope

The time finally arrived when I was with the guitar virtuosos: Sunil Dai, Gaurab Dai who were accompanied by Sudip Rijal Dai and Rijen. The jam up session was done at Kaleidoscope music institute which is the oldest and the best music institute in town. These people were later joined by Pramod Dai who plays guitar very well and can jam up with anyone.

The show started off with Gary Moore’s classic called the “Empty room”. I was the only one who was there from the beginning to the end and this very first number rocked me. Sunil Dai who is a very renowned guitarist played and sang it with great feeling. Gaurab Dai too was busy playing the counters and solos with the same intense as he used to play on stage.

After a couple of songs, some other close friends arrived at the show. These guys never stopped playing and singing. The songs done by them included hotel California, smoke on the water, road house blues, still got the blues, cocaine and many other great numbers. The one which I enjoyed the most was the CCR’s classic Susie Q. On this particular song, Gaurab Dai moved in to bass and wow man he plays the bass for real. Sunil Dai too was not out of touch as we haven’t seen him playing live for a long time. In fact all the Dais had the music passion in them which could be seen and felt when they were playing. They’ve got music in each and every vein in their body.

Apart from these western numbers they did a couple of nepali songs as well. One of the all time hit called “Kaha timro mayalulai” had the original vocalist Sudip Rijal Dai and the improvisation and jam up thing was awesome. Those entire three Dais simply kept on playing and every one of them played solos as well. All those dais present there in the jam up session gave chance to everyone to show what they posses, the drummer vai too was outstanding and showed his talents with his drum solo. After four hours or so after the continuous play, the show was wrapped up with Susie Q.

I was longing for more and Gaurab Dai too did not have enough play yesterday, so he for sure will be jamming again pretty soon. I bet none of those great musician dais were fully satisfied with yesterday’s jam. I should say that this is the start of another beautiful dawn which will bring live performances into life.

Monster

I always love movies which contains disgusting creatures and monsters. Anaconda,King-Kong, Jurassic Park, Pirates Of Carribean and the likes of such movies were great. This time around when I was scanning through a pile of movies I found one called “Monster”. I quickly grabbed it and sat down to watch it.

This isn’t a movie and has no animations. It is basically a documentary which has been filmed in Japan. I was so anxious to watch this movie just because, on the cover of the movie, it was stated that “It is not fictional, real incidents have been caught on tape”. “The earthquake which took place in Japan and killed a large number of people was not an earthquake, it was something else.”

Two American reporters visit Japan. While interviewing one of the ministers of Japan they feel tremor. With this every thing gets messed up. People running to and fro to save themselves, cars flying over people’s head, helicopters hovering in the sky, people screaming and all could be seen in this film. In fact on one of the occasion, we can see a huge tail like structure flipping in the air. After that, this creature could be seen a number of times.

I was totally freaked out but sadly the electricity went off. I did not get the chance to complete this particular movie.

But what was that? If it wasn’t for an earthquake, what type of creature was that? Do those creatures still exist? If the documentary had been for real why did not this movie called “Monster” get that publicity? Why did not people see this movie?

The cover of the film also states that, “footages from a camera of two missing American reporters”. Phew….. just could believe anything and anyone, however I will finish the whole movie in a short time from now and will be concluding on this issue.

Seraphim Falls

After a long time I got some free time to watch a classic movie. Pierce Brosnan stars in this movie called “Seraphim Falls”. I always have a weird feeling while watching movies of favoring the characters playing the negative rolls. Such negative characters are always punished at the end of the movie. But, in this particular movie, Colonel Morsman played by Liam Nesson is shown as a negative character in the starting. Morsman is in pursuit of Gideon played by Pierce Brosnan seeking revenge. This, Morsman character has definitely some reasons behind which makes him a blood thirst because he gets his wife and kids burned inside his house because of a small but terrible mistake of the Gideon crew. However Gideon is also not guilty but he had been the commander in chief when that incident broke out.

The whole movie is about chasing Gideon but to no avail. When these two guys meet face to face in a desert, Morsman gives all what it takes to kill Gideon but is unable to take his revenge. Both of them are not wrong for what they are doing and what they have done but Morsman is the righteous person.

At last Morsman gives up his avenge as he too could have died. And finally they both walk away from each other.

This is a classic movie and the story is nice as well. Each and every aspect of this movie is just great.

10000 BC, A Nonsense Movie

The most hyped movie yet the worst as far as I am concerned is “10,000 BC”. This is in fact the greatest annoying movie of all time. It can be regarded as a hilarious movie rather than an action movie. I never expected the director of Independence Day come up with such a funny movie. Independence Day is a good movie.

I don’t see the whole movie as a total crap but most of the film is baseless. So far the imaginary 10000 BC could have had happened and after all it’s a movie, it is acceptable. The technical aspect is praiseworthy, but the script is nonsense. In one of the scenes, where D’Leh falls into a large ditch where there had been a tiger trapped is an embarrassing scene. The ditch slowly fills with water and the tiger then is trapped to death. Upon seeing this D’Leh gets into dire straits whether to kill it or help it. Before he finally decides to free the tiger, he says to the tiger, “Don’t eat me after I release you”. This dialogue could have been eliminated from the script.

This movie is however based on a love story which is another worse aspect. Just to save his love Evolet, D’Leh faces all the troubles. In the end too, Evolet is killed but again comes back into life. Uff, it is weird and Warner Brothers coming up with such movie is idiocy. And most importantly, the English accent of the characters is worst. Where is the movie based upon? Everything is a disaster. 10000 BC is a terrible bad mark in Hollywood movies. Those who haven’t watched this movie, I strongly suggest you to take a long nap rather than watching this one. A nap is thousand times better than a couple of hours of watching this nonsense movie.
