Gathering

The morning was wet with fair amount of down pour. The day was June 6th 2009. We were all pumped up for the get-together. I had personally asked, scorpia, roshan limbu, roshan rai, jyotsana via hi5 profile comments, to be there, but they did not make it and it was me at least who felt their absence.

Nevertheless the absence were soon defused by the presence of the likes of Biswa Tarzan, Susan Bihari, Gaurav Rooney(as far as I am concerned, he doesn’t like to be called Bhotey lol) and Yangma Bhurtel (you can never distinguish, whether he’s sleeping or laughing, his eyelids get glued to each other when he smiles and I assume when he is fast asleep, same thing happens therefore making it hard to say if he’s sleeping or laughing). These guys are fun, they however seemed to be very interested in serious topics and for the fun and frolicking thing, and they can only be outrun by no one.

I then received Ananta’s call, due to inevitable circumstances she could not attend the gathering despite her full efforts and interest. We all pray to Paruhang and Sumnima to help Ananta in these times of difficulties.

We all viz. Pranita Bantawa, Raja Bantawa dai, Biswa Hang, Binu di and myself gathered at Eat me restaurant. Just after the arrival of biswa grg, gaurab and susan at around 2 pm we headed towards Tom Yam for pork momo. In fact tom yam is a cozy place for such gathering. It was fun, we talked about hi5 groups, rais and rains and the hamro afnai hi5 circle. We talked about all the members but weren’t backbiting at all; trust me on this, lol. Yangma however was right at the place in the most accurate and the sharpest of nepali time. After some laughs, chats we were already on the course of departing and calling it a day. We stayed there for a couple of hours talking, making jokes and some sorts of other similar things and most importantly feeding on pork momos. Before we departed, the one who remained totally silent throughout the gathering spoke or more precisely whispered, it was susan saying, “What about the group picture?” so we walked about half a kilometer and finally got to a studio where we took a snap.

Biswa and Biswa, they both clicked very well and Biswa the Kirati one was the one who was more than excited to meet Yangma. Susan did not speak a word unless she was asked something. Pranita as usual was interviewing the new faces. Binu di kept herself busy with laughter most of the times, raja dai, he was like giving speech to a huge mass. Gaurab spoke frequently and when he spoke he kindled laughter, susan remained silent and I fear she was suppressed by comfort.

So, this is it, a fine day came to an end. The musketeers (you know who am I referring to) have already planned on a bike hike in the near future. Everyone I guess had a nice time. I would personally like to bow down to Biswa Grg, Gaurab, Susan and Yangma and I really appreciate them for leaving bitter things which took place a couple of days back with such ease. My salutation to these guys was for the reason that I never thought these guys would show up after what happened a few days back.

I don’t know if they realized my intention which was to bind everyone together. Sometimes, there’s pain but the fact that there’s always a lotion as well to cure the pain should not be ignored. I hope yesterday’s get-together was in some way or the other a pain killing lotion. It worked for me and I hope it would work for others as well. Some day in future, we will have a very big get-together where each and every member of the hi5 group would come for a great, great assembly.

This kind of get-together would sound a mere get-together for most people, but to me, it was a divine achievement.
Thank you everyone on this occasion including Yubraj aka bhoot ko sathi, Sanjay aka the rai and boini grg whose nick changes every now and then, we definitely missed you people. And other important persons who were missed by the gathering were, subash, keith and durga the jhapali nepte.
