Minutes earlier i was walking along the foot marked asphalt roads searching for a very rare seed. Upon crossing some narrow edges of several high mountain cliffs, I had finally found a beautiful valley where lovely pink, yellow, red and blue flowers had blossomed with melodious chirping of larks, gulls and sparrows. There were butterflies hovering and the sun shone brightly. Twisting, stooping and crawling through the bushes of twigs, vines and cob webs I finally saw the plant that bore the rarest seed which I had been looking for so long.
After that I don’t remember anything and before I could grab the plant I was already in the darkest gorge speeding down. I just couldn’t conclude what and which step forced me into the deadly gorge. Mistake s and errors happen despite the strongest and surest determination and commitments. And a mistake is not always supposed to be punishable. Yeah, why should a simple mistake lead to a terrible disaster all the time?
I was brought up in a society where Hinduism has a very big influence. More than half of the population of the country follows Hinduism. In a Hindu Ved, there’s a story of a Goddess named ‘Kali’ who once accidentally stepped on Lord Shiva. She was simply walking and did not at all notice Lord Shiva lying on the way. To her bad, she unknowingly stepped on Lord Shiva. On that very instant, Lord Shiva lost his mind and cursed ‘Kali’ for her disrespect against himself. From that moment onwards, she was not able to suck her tongue inside and it remained hanging out of her mouth for the rest of her life.
So, this is where I relate my mistakes, having grown up in a Hindu dominated society, I am forced into the gorge in spite of my ignorance. I too might have stepped on something of a taboo which should have never been stepped upon. Right now I’m falling inside a gorge and haven’t quite yet met death nor have I been living. This is where I realize, a small mistake leads to a terrible disaster and there’s no resurrection of any kind of whatsoever. There’s no room for error in life. Mistakes are mistakes whether they’re deliberate or accidental.
