The UEFA champions league final showcased a match between the English and the Spanish top clubs. Both the teams had respectively won their internal league and were vying for the most prestigious cup of the European football. Manchester United from Barklays’ Premier League played against Barcelona of Spanish La Liga. The first fifteen minutes or so, Manchester fully controlled the game but Barcelona came up strong in the later part of the match. It was Pedro drawing first blood and the lead just remained for seven minutes. It was none other than Rooney who equalized for Manchester. In the second half two goals from Messi and Villa insured the victory and it was Barcelona’s fourth cup.
The final was not an interesting match as it was expected but no doubt, that Barcelona played very beautiful football. Their passing was superb, their defence was stubborn and the most important of them all, the ball possession. In fact Barcelona outplayed Manchester in all the departments. Barcelona came to Wembley for the final with a good plan and they executed very well whereas talking about Manchester United, there seemed no game plan of whatsoever and which is why they lost. It had been the second time for Manchester United being deprived up the cup by Barcelona.
All in all Barcelona proved their superiority in football. They played well and got what they deserved.
