Moments With Kids

I like kids and playing, poking them is what i enjoy most. I don’t quite remember the day but had a threatening incident with a kid when I was riding back home from the office. In front of me was a car cruising away and there was a small kid in the back seat with his parents I assume in the front row. The kid was on its own, enjoying the scene by looking out of the rear windshield. Our eyes met and I made some gestures, winked my eyes, nodded my head and smiled at him. He reacted quite well to my gestures and luckily the car he was in was moving away at a constant speed and I had no problem keeping up with it. He then started waving at me and so did I. We were now friends already. The next moment was horrific though. He stuck his head out of the side windows and started trying to speak and making friendly gesture with me. I was frightened by this move of that little innocent kid and I used my hands, ordering to get back into the car. He did not obey as he seemed to be happy to talk to a stranger. All the while the parents in the front row never noticed it. Then I thought if I continue making gesture it would be no good. I also thought that I’d speed up to the driver’s side and bring the act to their information. It was somehow my fault and I did not have courage to go up to the adults and complain about the kid. I then decided to overtake the car and head away.

Thus it was an opportunity to learn more about kids. After that particular incident, I’ve been very cautious these days.

Somewhere near my office a small construction was going on. There were labors working which included men as well as women. A woman was fetching cements and marbles to the masons. There then, on a heap of pebbles a small care free child was playing on her own. She was seen to be running to and fro and occasionally being shouted at by her mother. She was in fact having a great time out in the sun and to add more joy, the bullying mother was too busy to take care of her. All the time in the world was in her hands. I was having a cup of tea just across the road and watching her play. Unlike the kid I befriended while trailing a car, she didn’t have clean clothes and she had stones, pebbles, nails, mud as her toys. I desperately wanted to make her happier by buying her some chocolates but then again my act might provoke her mother or I’d be terribly misunderstood. Therefore I simply watched her away having a great time on her own.
