Andy Mckee

The world is full of great and talented guitarists. Some of them get the maximum exposure and some remain under the limelight. There are so many commercial guitarists who are very well known to the mass but there are equally good quality guitarists who are not very popular among the listeners.

In this very context, I would like to talk about Andy McKee. He is a great guitarist and he plays classical melody. I too saw and heard him play in some videos downloaded from the internet. He is the guy who focuses on melody and listening to him playing classical tunes is real fun. When he plays it feels like there are a number of other guitarists accompanying him but he plays alone and the way he plucks notes with his extra ordinary skills, it is sure for a listener to get into confusion. I still have a lot to explore his music but whatever I have heard till date, they're all great. Sometimes he even tunes the normal tuning to G scale and plays his compositions. It’s amazing to hear him play in scales other than the usual scale. I really admire and appreciate those guitarists who jump off from the main scale and play. Mark Tremonti is the one I know who plays dropped D tune and he too plays great. He too has some classical touch in his playing style.

So, listening to classical music is more than any other genres when it comes to guitar instrumentals. Blues and jazz are good but listening to classical music is like some kind of noise of silence. Give and ear to Andy Mckee and you’ll feel what it’s like to hear classical music specially the guitar.
