The movie starts with an island belonging to ants where those ants are supposed to collect food for the grasshoppers. The ants work really hard to gather food for the grasshoppers but a slight mistake by Flik gets the entire collected food, drop into the water. When the grasshoppers arrive, they see no food readied for them and thus threatens the ants’ community, however giving them a second chance to have the food ready for the grasshoppers.
As those grasshoppers leave the island leaving terror among the ants as it would be almost impossible to recollect the food for them. With the rain due to fall in a short period of time, the ants are now in jeopardy as they need to stock food for themselves and in addition to it, they have to stock food for the grasshoppers as well.
To deal with such a huge problem, Flik takes all the responsibility to get some help from the city and thus leaves for the city. Upon his arrival in the city he desperately hunts for some warriors who could defend ants from the grasshoppers. In this course, he mistakenly takes circus performers as warriors and takes them to his island.
In the nick of time when grasshoppers were supposed to be arriving, everything gets messed up as the fellow ants realize that they don’t have any warriors to defend them against the grasshoppers and no time to start collecting ration for the grasshoppers. Finally they work out a plan to ward away the grasshoppers with joint effort from the circus team and the ants as well.
I just watched the cowboy classic called “Magnificent 7” and “Bugs Life” is similar to that one.
