Bryan In Nepal

I was simply staring at the big screens to the left of the stage. I could see Bryan Adams singing yet I wasn’t at all convinced of seeing the superstar live on a Nepali soil in front of a small crowd should I say when compared to those of western countries live shows of such. I couldn’t help thinking but wonder in amazement of watching a live Bryan Adam’s performance. BRYAN ADAMS was here singing his all time great classics in front of me in my own country. Getting an opportunity of watching a live Bryan Adams show was never in my wildest of imaginations and that too in my own turf. There were still so many reasons why watching Bryan Adams live was beyond my imaginations. Back in the reality I was hearing Bryan Adams and watching him along his band play my favourite numbers.

The show kicked off with an intimate song called “Kathmandu” and how wise it was for Bryan Adams to cover such an electrifying song sung about the place he was performing. The show never got boring and was flawless; it wasn’t any different from listening to the CDs and DVDs. The most popular one among the audience was the “summer of 69” and I am pretty sure Bryan would have been very surprised when the whole stadium was singling along him. There was another interesting incident when he called someone to accompany him in a song, many hands raised but he did not believe that those people would know the lyrics to his song. A girl was chosen among the crowd who sang the whole song with Bryan. To a great astonishment, she was singing the song in a perfect pitch. After finishing the song, Bryan hugged her and gave her Bryan Adams tee-shirt as gift.
Bryan introduced his members just like he did in the MTV Unplugged show; the guitarist, bassist and the drummer threw away plectrums and drum sticks at the crowd. Everything was like watching Bryan’s videos. While singing “everything I do, I do it for you” Bryan asked the audiences to light on their cell phones and the audience did. At that particular time, the whole stadium looked so beautiful, with the lights swinging to and fray and it felt as if the whole stadium was gently swinging. The audience in that particular show were very decent, there were no brawls and the police including the security personals deployed there did not have to take any harsh action.

All in all the concert was the best I’ve ever had attended in my life. But I wasn’t still convinced of seeing Bryan perform live and that too in Nepal. Once he said that he has now opened door to other western singers and band to perform here in Nepal and I can’t wait for Bonjovi to be here.
