Christmas Decoration

I have never paid much attention when it comes to decorating my house. Many a times on big festive seasons I have ignored decorating my house but one thing I have always maintained is cleanliness. I never forget to clean my house during big festivals. I still remember last year when I was invited to a friend’s place on the eve of Christmas for a small party. It was then I realized how well and relax one can feel in a well decorated place. I came to know that the ambience of a room has a huge impact on our way of thinking. As it was a Christmas Eve there was this beautiful christmas candle in the darkest corner of the living room. It was kept in a lone candle stand and the glow it emitted was enough for the half of the room to lighten up. It was the main attraction of the whole decoration at least to me.

Now that I have become conscious about the decoration and the importance of proper ambience of a house, I look forward to decorating my whole house this year. I have already bought some Christmas candles and a lot of other colorful electric bulbs. I am also planning to set up a big dining table as I will be inviting some close friends and relatives too. This Christmas I am going to have the best Christmas I have ever had in my life. I am desperately looking forward to making it a very memorable and the biggest one. 

Carpet Cleaning

Last weekend I had a small party at my place and some fifteen people showed up. It was a fun filled party as I did every possible thing to make it a memorable one. After the party, the next day I was a kind of terrified with the stains on my carpet which obviously looked too stubborn to clean. Things I Buy Everyday

Currently my days are a bit shaky and thus my thinking shakes vigorously. Nothing much I can do about it because it’s just a turbulent moment which at some point will surely pass. Despite my deprivations, I gather all the courage that I can garner and take on the day. I go shopping and that’s how I propel my nasty day.

Just before reaching the office, I give a ride to fellow colleagues, I find one every day by the way, who walks to office and there I buy a little bit of help. Interesting Vs Boring

What’s interesting and what’s boring? The answer is not easy because perception differs and it could attract a number of debates. Things which are interesting to say a group of ‘A’ people does not necessarily have to coincide with the interest of people of group ‘B’. For instance we can take reading and watching movies. There are many people who find reading interesting and watching movies dull and there are equally many people who think and feel just the other way round. This trait of human strictly implies on the choice of sports too. Some may find golf boring but there are tournaments being held which awards the winner like no other sporting events give away both in terms of cash as well as prestige. They have a large number of audiences who would walk miles along the golfers and their caddies just because they find it interesting. In a different angle, if the child had interest in gymnastics the whole family would share common interest.  Not only love and affection factor, but a bit of leniency towards boring can lead to interesting and at the same time, too much of interesting can also lead to boring.  Likewise if the whole world found the same thing interesting, the time and the world would still be boring because of the lack of diversity in interesting and boring, moreover when there are no any alternatives to interesting remains.

Yamaha Motorcycles

Reality Via Dreams

Do dreams really reveal anything? I am not superstitious but then again I have been thinking off lately that dreams should have some connection with real life. I don’t believe in astrology but having heard of some experts in the relative field I have come to learn that the position of starts at the birth of a human being has a huge impact and thus a logarithm can be derived which unveils the character of the person. I have never been to a fortune teller and I’ll never visit one because I still like my disbelief to continue as it is. But dreams! There must be something which is why I think my dream has been reflecting my character.

I often dream of walking or racing up a steep hill. All my veins get tired almost making my legs collapse, unable to help me wrestle even a single step forward. At the same time my mind keeps thinking that I should carry on towards the top despite being too weak and almost disabled due to lack of energy and I try to step forward with all that I have left in me. I then suddenly come out of the dream which leaves me in the middle. I have never given up and neither have I completed the run. Now, I’ve been finding my life very similar to my dreams. I have the will and enthusiasm to do anything I pursue but something comes as a barricade before I accomplish any of my goals. I try to do my best for whatever I do but without reaching to the desired result.

I don’t believe in such dreams but I fear. I fear if my life’s going to be like my dreams. I relate such dreams to scientific facts. Like, before going to bed if I have too much or too little dinner, my body would not function properly and thus difficult and bad dreams could emerge. This is how I console myself but the fear still exists for my heart too functions like any other human body’s heart.

Some couple of years back I used to dream of crossing a big river. In my dream, I used to have that fear of crossing the river but I have never crossed the river nor have I drowned in it like the way I fear about. In those days I used to compare my life and dream with a character in a movie, the name which I don’t remember of perhaps I don’t know. The lead character happens to be a singer who dreams of plane crash quite frequently. Ultimately the singer dies in a plane crash. The movie therefore obviously created a kind of fear in me.

I have that kind of fear due to my dreams but then again I have the instinct to defy everything. No matter what I will keep confronting them throughout my entire life. If my dreams would come true of if my life would be like that of the singer in a movie; then be it. With all my might I’ll carry myself forward.

Nepal Police is the reigning league champion of Nepal which got the title on a goal difference against Manang Marshyangdi. Recently NPC also won the British Gurkha Cup which is the most expensive tournament in Nepal. The winner of Gurkha Cup then got an opportunity to play against Indian I-league team Mohan Bagan. Mohan Bagan has a very long history since its establishment and has few games against European clubs under their belt. They are also the first Indian club to defeat a European club. Though they haven’t been in their top form in regards to the I-League standing, talented players like Sunil Chettri is a huge influence on the whole team. He is one of the most successful strikers in Indian football team and also has a lot of experience of playing with American soccer clubs too.

The Final Score

Despite the fact that NPC won the league, national league and the British Gurkha Cup, the team is marred by injuries. One of the most celebrated strikers of NPC and the national team, Jumanu Rai had been injured. Having displayed some beautiful moves, Mohan Bagan lost the match and it was a rejoice for the local supporters who were present in thousands in the stadium.

Amir Sir

The most cheerful, helpful and the funniest character that I’ve ever come across in my life is Late Amir Sir. Since my early school days at the tender age of seven or eight I had this beautiful opportunity to get up close with him, the relation which would last for twenty three long years. He had been an ideal person in my life who taught me to live life without taming any kind of expectations and without complaining about this and that. Life is a roller coaster but with his companionship I think I never went down, it was literally only the ups.

In our early school days Amir sir used to be the most dreaded teachers of all. He was then considered to be the most ruthless teacher however as time passed by and after leaving Fairy Land School, it was then when I would go back through the vista of years gone by and realize that, If it wouldn’t have been for his strictness I would have easily gone to become a spoilt brat. Luckily he was there to pave me a way to a disciplined life ahead and I cannot thank him more, may some medium deliver my token of appreciation to him up there where he’s resting in peace leaving all the chaos and troubles at bay.

As a kid I still remember going for grocery to the market and each time we went he would take me to Tshering Didi’s restaurant to have momo. Back then nothing would be more ecstatic other than to eat momo. This trend continued even when I went to Darjeeling with him. He really knew well to keep children happy and disciplined at the same time. While at school on weekends or after school hours, we were always there with our ears widened to hear Amir Sir call our name and telling us to get dressed to go for the market. Taking all of us would not be possible hence he would call a single name and whoever was called, it was like winning a battle. Going out with him would insure our favourite dish, taxi ride and a lot of fun talking.

But in class, if we were unable to finish the lessons, it would be a day equalling death. We would be spanked with that famous black stick and on top of that, the nervousness created by fear would add more trouble and spoil everything. Getting spanked was then inevitable and no one would be spared and this particular memory is making me grin right now. Alas! He is no more, may his soul rest in peace.

I remember one more important experience with Amir sir. I was in the 10th grade and our S.L.C. was at the door. Amir sir had promised to buy me a tape recorder cassette of my choice if I passed the test. I passed and he took me to newroad as he had promised. I chose Michael learns to rock greatest hits album which at that time cost one hundred and twenty five. It was bought at Tik N’ Tok Newroad which I feel like it was only yesterday.

One Saturday morning I received a call and it was Amrit Dai. He said that Amir sir is no more, I did not believe him at first because he was in the best of his health and I had known that he had been following yoga off lately. I thought Amrit dai misinformed or he too might not have heard the news properly. I felt the surrounding blacken and a chill ran down my spine, could not lift myself up off the bed but somehow managed to get up and leave.

As I stepped out in the early fresh morning, I saw the smiling, bright face of Amir sir in the clear blue sky like they show in movies, The feeling was surreal and thinking of his demise was way out of my belief. Finally I had to accept the untimely death of a good person, the absence which will never be compensated by anyone. I started recalling the last time that I had met him. Only a couple of weeks back I had met him on the street where he was again walking with a small boy who obviously had to be a student like us in the days long gone. After that particular meeting, I had once visited the hostel but sadly he had been out. The following weekend I came to hear about this bad news. I totally regretted for not being able to see him on a recent occasion. I missed him and will always do so.

Back in Darjeeling a lot of people had gathered at his house. The ambulance carrying the dead body arrived late in the evening. After taking the dead body out of the coffin it was placed in a room with candles and incense sticks lit for the whole night. I did not have the guts to look at the body sleeping in peace which would never wake up again. The following morning I had to leave for Kathmandu due to some circumstances and could not avail myself for the final rituals. What good might it be to attend the funeral when he was no more; I thought and consoled myself while returning.

Lastly I have no complain to the almighty for snatching Amir sir away from me because I had my share of life with him though it was too little. Some beautiful moments have been spent with him, which I would reminisce every single moment of my life now onwards. For, he is one of the most important and influential person in my life, missing him is evident. I’ll pray to the Gods to give enough strength to his family to cope up with this terrible disaster and wish his soul a peaceful rest.

“I have a master plan to rob a bank, what say?” A Haku Kale’s dialogue while he tries to gather associates for his plan to rob a bank and become rich overnight. A simple married man with a small son who owns a small restaurant is out to become rich by robbing a bank. He is so determined to become rich that he just needs five months and start a new wealthy life. He cannot complete the job on his own so he sets off to the streets of the city to fill in the needed human resources in his soon to be association. He is in need of four accomplices to rob the bank and gradually makes a team of five including himself as the boss.

The first one of the four that he brings in is a small time felon. He sells small amount of hashish and marijuana to tourists and leads his life. Slowly he had been starting to deal with small arms and ammunitions too. He has never thought of becoming rich because he lives his life as it is. Soon he meets Haku and is lured to become rich by robbing a bank.

The second one is a guy who gambles a lot and works as a bouncer in a restaurant. He however likes to upgrade his life. He wants to buy a motorcycle but sadly gets into financial trouble. At some point he nearly gets himself killed by a group of thugs whom he owes some money. Haku Kale out of nowhere comes to his rescue and finally another member is admitted to his gang.

The third and the forth are room-mates living in the capital sharing a room and are unemployed. One of them is in desperate need of money because the girl he loves comes from a decent and wealthy background. Haku Kale meets them in his restaurant and convinces them to join the gang.

Finally Haku Kale forms a gang. They are now ready to rob the bank and become rich. How will they complete the job? The whole movie is a must watch.

Nothing is extraordinary in the movie but something is definitely there. The dialogue has crossed all the previous barriers set in movies and local derogatory and slangs have been used however the film board has censored many such dialogues. The story line is good and there’s no flaw in acting. Most of the actors do not belong to the mainstream film industry but they have done justice to their characters. Unlike in any other commercial movies where the hero and heroine hold their hands and dance in the parks or rain, “Loot” doesn’t have such scenes but it does have a couple of songs which are beautifully woven suiting the theme.

A Visit To Pokhara

It took me more than thirty years of my life to visit this beautiful place called Pokhara. One of the most visited places in Nepal which boasts of natural beauty also happens to be the gateway to Annapurna Himalaya range. Because of my own commitments, I had never ever thought of going to Pokhara but everything has exceptions. Initially I had planned to go there on motorcycle but things had to be adjusted. I took a bus and at sharp seven thirty in the morning I was heading towards Pokhara and uninhabited territory at least to me. Though its only some two hundred plus kilometres away from Kathmandu, it took almost seven hours to get there however the journey was slow and steady and pleasant at the same time

Mugling used to be a transit for long tours in the olden days, but these days it’s just another bazaar along the highway. I had been there a number of times but taking right from there had never taken place in me. This time I was heading right from Mugling for the very first time in my entire life.

Just before reaching Pokhara, we came across Damauli and I already liked the place. New places are always likeable but Damauli had different kind of attachment developing in me. Finally I was in Pokhara. A guest house owner approached and took me to his guest house. Some four kilometres away from the place I got off from the bus was the guesthouse located at Lakeside. After checking in to my room I had to find a bus counter to book return ticket for the following morning. I did not want to hire a bike of take a taxi, instead I decided to walk on foot in this beautiful city. After some to and fro from one place to another, I finally got to the counter and booked my ticked and returned to the guest house.

I took a shower, had a cup of tea and set myself out to roam around Pokhara. It was a beautiful dusk and I just headed to explore the strange yet beautiful place. As I kept walking I could figure a glimpse of a lake but didn’t have any idea of reaching it. I then took to a small alley and luckily I was in front of that beautiful majestic lake which should obviously be Fewa. I stood by the side relishing the beauty, talking to myself and experiencing tranquility. Before it got dark I returned to the lodge, had supper and went to bed.

The following morning, the bus would leave at seven thirty in the morning. I did not know where the bus station was. However instead of taking a taxi I made up my mind to walk because I assumed Pokhara isn’t a very big city, I could easily reach the station and I had surplus of an hour before the bus would leave. With some guidance from the commoners I kept walking asking the way to bus stop on regular intervals I kept walking. After a few minutes of walk I saw a beautiful park where people were enjoying the early morning, stretching their body, boys were seen to be playing football while others jogged around the park. In the background was this big Fewa lake motionlessly stretched from side to the other. I stood along the park for a while and watched the football.

I might have taken some thirty or forty minutes before I reached the bus and it was already time for me to depart from this beautiful place.I look forward to be there and visit each and every nook and nosh of Pokhara in the near future.

Facing The Day

It’s a strange feeling that I tame on a number of occasions on regular intervals. The day is dull with very less work in the office. My mind keeps worrying about several things despite my tremendous effort to divert my thoughts to something else. I walked out of my room in the office and out of the compound. I didn’t know where I was going but my feet kept walking. After several steps away from the main gate I thought to myself and wondered where I was going. I didn’t know where to go and couldn’t decide a place that I’d go but my feet kept moving. I was literally astonished with this strange supernatural facet of mine as my mind was unstable and my feet kept walking. I simply can’t put this into words but it was somehow shocking. Now I fear I’m really going insane. I can’t even tell this to anyone and even if I did, I’d simply be a very nice character to be cynically laughed at. Earlier in the morning, my sleep broke unusually very early. To add a bit of relief, I noticed that there was electricity. I turned on my computer and started to write an email to her. I Think Too Much

There’s a big tree in the office premises under which I often go and seat beneath it. It’s pleasant to be there in pricking summer heat. The melody created when a soft breeze comes by is truly a moment of bliss. Though it’s not summer right now I went beneath it only to get disturbed by terrible chirping of birds. It was a beautiful cool dawn but the noise those birds made would be enough to break a wine glass I guess. It was the highest of all notes that could be heard in nature. I was thinking, if the tree was a classroom, because as soon as the teacher leaves the class the pupils would make noise or it might be a theatre where a play had just ended. The tree could have also been a bride’s house where and when the bridegroom arrives, the queen’s men would start chatting and blabbing thus creating a lot of noise. It may also be a house of representatives where members are protesting over an issue. The most probable thing that the tree could be was a hospital where one is seriously injured and the others are panicking. Or there could have been a terrible fight between two groups. I was simply analyzing the situation from beneath the tree bearing that high pitched noise. At last it was too unbearable and I was warded off.
