I still clearly remember the day when we first talked. It was my first day in
Then you came up to me and my sister and the words you said were, “you’re from fairyland (my previous school), right? You don’t have any friends here so come with us”. After the indication of the end of the break, you went away to your class and so did we. It was the first day in my new school and while returning, you, I and my sister, we all came home together. We talked a lot about comic characters. On the way home, you told me that you had been a member in a book store which lets the members take away comics for a day or two. There was a nagraj comic (I still remember it was Nagraj aur Toofan Joo) which I wanted to take but the store owner did not let you pick that because you had not returned a couple of comics. I also remember what you said at that moment, “Samundra I have this one at home, you can take it from there”, actually you did not have that one. Lol
I also remember you coming to my place and I used to play guitar while you sang. In fact we were trying to form a band. Haha.. I will always remember “Hey Jude” and “Norwegian Wood” practice sessions. While we were really practicing hard you would leave the room with some silly excuses and you used to go out to a small restaurant and gulp a glass of wine and come back to the practice. I was quite aware that you would go and drink wine, but my friend I had to act as if I really knew nothing and I had to respond to your silly excuses in an innocent manner.
But man, these are some important things which you need to know:
- We were hit by a motorcycle in the city’s most crowded junction at Jamal. It was your fault.
- We had a motorcycle accident at Lainchour and it was your fault again.
- The moment when your wife was leaving and you were completely out of sense. You did not even recognize me.
- You never returned my favorite CDs.
- You owe me a lot of money hahaha….
Uff…. I am literally getting into those good old times. But the thing is that, you are now leaving. It’s been more than a decade and we never had bitter relationship between us.
All right, all right. Nothing lasts forever and the time has come for me to bid you farewell. I am not sure if we’ll meet again in the future, but you have been the best of my friends and if I don’t miss you, I don’t have a heart.
Good luck. Hastalabista baby……
