It was Friday when I visited the Sewaroz Art Gallery at Kumaripati. I had been visiting that place for a long time but never had my work finished. This time I was going to make it sure. I made an appointment with them to be there the following morning at around 9.

And on Saturday morning, I woke up early, took a shower and headed for the art gallery. On the way I was thinking and asking myself, “Are you sure, you want this?” I fell into confusion and was in serious dilemma at some point. I had already made an appointment and I was answering to myself to my own questions, “Oh why not? I desperately want to have it, no matter what people think, I need to have one”

Finally I reached the art gallery. The man on the counter told me to go downstairs and I did. There was another guy who was on his way to have lunch. He told me to wait in his room and gave me some pictures so that I wouldn’t be bored while waiting for his comeback. Those pictures were incredible and I loved every one of them. Then the guy appeared at the door.

I asked him to design a five lettered text and he did it very beautifully. He took out all the equipments which included pointed deadly looking needles, lotions, Vaseline, cotton and other necessary tools. He sprayed some lotion on my chest and started piercing with the gun.

When he sketched the outline, it hurt terribly but it was somehow bearable as I wanted a tattoo very desperately. At times the pain was intense and I had to close my eyes. He however paused every now and then wiping the blood off and the process started again. After an hour or so of agonizing tolerance, he finished. I stood up and looked in the mirror and that was the moment when I instantly fell in love with my tattoo. It was as beautiful as nothing.

While returning, I felt like I was flying. I was so happy with that permanent mark on my chest.

I will never have any bitter feelings towards my tattoo and every time I look at my reflection in the mirror, I would feel proud about the mark, no matter what happens in the future, this tattoo will always remain with me.

My Own Approach Of Dealing Depression

Morning Greetings

I head to the office in the morning at around 8.30. The first person that I happen to greet is Shivv who owns a small shop in the first intersection which I have to pass. My Flowers

Flowers have never got any attention from me. I had no interest in flowers or gardening. However things changed and it hasn’t been a lot since I fell for flowers.

On one of my visit to my grandmom who lived at a distance of about two hours walk; I saw beautiful flowers in her garden. They looked quite beautiful and the fragrance was simply out of the world. I brought those seedlings with me and desperately wanted to plant them as soon as I reached home. I did not even bother to ask my grandmom about the name of the flowers because I was so excited to have them in my place. I did not want to expose those flowers to everybody who would pass by so I decided to plant them in a bit of distance away from my home. I walked twenty minutes or so and finally found a place where I could plant them. With the beautiful blossomed flowers in the back of my mind, I dug the mud out and planted those seedlings putting small wooden bars around them to keep it safe from birds and stray cattle.

I carefully watered them, brought some manure and put them in the mud around the plant and I also pampered the tender leaves of stems, I was simply thinking of the time when they would grow big and turn into beautiful flowers.

I got back home; the day had been quite good as I had started a new thing which never interested me in the past. After supper I went to bed and got asleep very quickly. In the darkest hour of the night, I suddenly woke up. The high pitched thunder strike and the tapping sound made by large drops of water broke my sleep. Suddenly I remembered my flowers and alas! Would they be there tomorrow? I never realized that I had planted them very near to a brook and if the rain continues, the water level may rise and sweep away my flowers. The strong wind would easily reap off those small fragile plants. At this point of time, I could not go to my nursery to bring those flowers back. My heart was pounding heavily and I could not stop thinking about tomorrow. The thoughts of those flowers were literally killing me.

Heritage Internet Technologies’ Good Works Committee is pleased to announce that we have teamed up with the Parks and Recreation department for the city of Provo, Utah in an effort to maintain the Moon River section of the Provo River Trail System.

The committee held their first cleanup event on September 24th 2008. We were pleased to see a large number of employees, as well as their families and friends, attend. Everyone was in good spirits, and had a great time as they dug in and brought this trail back to its original beauty.
The cleanup project included graffiti removal in the two tunnel portions of the trail section, vandalism repair, as well as litter and debris removal along the trail.

The HIT Good Works Committee conducts bi-weekly checks of the trail to ensure that it is being properly maintained. We will also be holding cleanup events once a month with our next event scheduled for October 29th 2008. We are looking forward to having as great of a turnout as we were able to have last month.

Kirateshwor Mahadevs

Kirats are essentially pagans and worship the nature and their ancestors. Sumnima-Paruhang are our first ancestors and not god and goddess as some believe. It is ACCORDING TO HINDU MYTHOLOGY that shiva took the form of a kirat and was worshiped as kirateshwor. The kirateshwor temple has a stone phallus just like other shiva temples arround the country. It doesnt say in our mundhum that paruhang is shiva. Just like buddha never did say i am vishnu's avatar.

Another statue that has survived to date is Birupaksha the one the hindus named "Kali" it has a very kirat like feature.

Kirati is in itself a multilingual, rich cultural and religious way of life. Yes, There are mention of Kirat society in the Rig Veda. But just because a hindu mythology says that their god shiva took the form of a kirat doesnt make the whole kirat culture a sub-religion of hinduism. There was a time when we ruled everything east of kathmandu. Back then illegitimate children were considered outcasts of the society. To prove that we had celebrated mahaastami by sacrificing an animal to Kali .. in the main door of every kirat the family had to imprint their palm with the blood of the animal. Now we get to Chandi. Chandi is a mythical goddess that slayed shumbha and nishumbha (pride and shame). It has absolutely nothing to do with our Udhauli and Ubhauli festival.
The Kirats being basically hunters and Farmers Just divided the year in 2 parts one fell according to the nepalese calender on mangsir and the other on baisakh full moon day. On the former we perform maangsirey ( not mangsirey like the nepali month mangsir but maang and sirey) or Udhauli and the latter is Ubhauli. These rites are known by many names as we Khambus have a wide variety of names. Bantawas call it sakewa, Chamlings call it sakela. It is also called sakkenwa, toshi, shyadar, sakhenwa, chasuwa, chasok tarunam etc.
It possibly started getting called chandi as an attempt to merge it into the majority hindu culture Just like Paruhang even earlier got merged with Shiva. The result being many of us Kirats mistakenly take paruhang as our god. Paruhang and Sumnima are our "adipurkha" or first ancestors. Thus we from this ubhauli on have started a campaign to get the original name back. Please feel free to call it according to the name given by your pachha but i'd urge everyone to stop calling it chandi.

Met New Good People

I never bothered to spend time in my office on weekends, until yesterday. I had never ever complained about working extra but I did yesterday as the gathering that was taking place on that very day was a very special one to me and I was on the verge of missing it.
